Key Things to Know About the Nissan Qashqai

One of the top-selling compact crossover SUVs, the third-generation Nissan Qashqai is available in multiple powertrain options including hybrid ones. Its functional features, coupled with robust performance, set this SUV apart from its competitors in the same segment. In addition to this, the competitive pricing of the car makes it a good choice among consumers looking for a practical SUV for everyday commute as well as the occasional long drives.

Variants
The Nissan Qashqai 2024 is available across five different trims. The Acenta Premium is the base trim with the lowest price tag. It has all the standard features that are also available in other variants.

Key Things to Know About the Nissan Qashqai
Following this, the N-Connecta, N-Design, and Tekna are the mid-range variants. The Tekna+ is the top-end trim with a bigger price tag and some premium features.

Cost
The Nissan Qashqai prices are generally considered quite competitive compared to compact SUVs made by other brands. The average price range is between £30,000 and £38,000. Further, the cost varies based on the trim and inclusion of additional features. Besides this, the price for a specific variant can also change depending on the dealership, location, taxes, delivery charges, and other extra costs. Some dealerships may also offer rebates and deals such as trade-in offers that can bring down the overall sticker price of the Nissan Qashqai for sale.

In general, most dealerships offer these approximate prices for Nissan Qashqai cars for sale.

  • Acenta Premium: £30,135
  • N-Connecta: £32,305
  • N-Design: £34, 845
  • Tekna: £34, 845
  • Tekna+: 38,875

Design
The Qashqai has been designed to have a sleek and sporty silhouette. It has undergone several makeovers across different generations to finally have a bolder aesthetic. Yet, it looks sophisticated with a redesigned front grille. Plus, it features LED-enhanced front and rear lamps that add to the functional style of the SUV. The rear bumper has been also redesigned to feature new inserts. Depending on the trim, there are 17″, 18″ or 20″ alloy wheels or 19″ aero wheels, all of which add to the overall striking design of the car.

Performance
Nissan has included e-Power technology to the Qashqai. This means it seamlessly bridges the gap between conventional petrol engines and fully electric powertrain. By not connecting the petrol engine directly to the wheel, the electric motor is made to be responsible for keeping the SUV in motion. As a result, the driving experience is quite smooth and consistent even when accelerating to higher speeds. This is what sets the Qashqai apart from other hybrid SUVs, where it is quite evident when there is a switch between the petrol and electric powers.

The experience is similar to driving a completely electric vehicle. This is because the engine noise has been designed to sound like a traditional petrol-based engine. But as soon as the acceleration is hit, there is instant power similar to that of driving a fully electric vehicle.

Additionally, there are different driving modes that can be chosen, including Eco and Sport. Each mode has been programmed to change the power delivery of the components under the hood accordingly. Plus, there is the EV mode that allows short bursts of all-electric driving experience. The regenerative braking can be amped up with the B-mode. Along with this, there is the option for one-pedal driving with the e-pedal mode. This is beneficial when the Qashqai has to be navigated along city roads or through traffic jams. Thus, the Qashqai’s performance offers some of the top benefits of an electric vehicle without the hassle of cables and chargers.

Reliability
Over the years, Nissan has built a good reputation for reliability. This is evident from the three-year or 60,000-mile warranty that is offered with every vehicle from Nissan, including the Qashqai. Further, an extended warranty can be obtained for an additional fee, whenever the initial cover is over.

Interior cabin
The Qashqai has a comfortable interior cabin that has been designed to be attractive with the use of premium materials. For instance, the center console has an elegant metal-effect trim along with a generous layering of Alcantara suede all over the dashboard. Plus, the cabin is fitted with a large touchscreen infotainment system of about 12.3 inches. While the base trim has standard features on the infotainment system, the higher trims have an entire suite of upgrades. Among these, the built-in Google Maps is a notable feature that is considered to be better than most other built-in satellite navigation systems.

Right below the touchscreen is a complete panel of climate controls along with a couple of useful shortcut buttons. These can be used for dimming the touchscreen for driving at night or to use the 360-degree camera system of the car.

Safety features
Every variant of the Nissan Qashqai has a range of standard safety features. These include blind spot monitoring, driver alertness monitoring, cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention, a rear camera with parking sensors, forward collision warning, and cross traffic alert to prevent colliding onto oncoming traffic from behind.

To make it easier to use the safety features, Nissan has incorporated a shortcut option. This can be configured to be a preferred combination of safety features. For instance, one can turn off the lane keeping assist system while leaving the speed limit alerts turned on. This can be easily done by pressing two buttons on the steering wheel every time the car is started.
