The perception of online MBA
MBA or Masters in Business Administration, is a post graduate degree which can be pursued after completing graduation. The person wishing to pursue MBA can be a graduate from any stream. Masters in Business Administration as the name suggests, is intended to provide a broader perspective as to how an organization is managed with the intention to expand the business and churn maximum profit out of it.
Masters in Business Administration is a vast degree. You can choose to specialize from hordes of streams offered under MBA program. It is a good option for people who want to climb the corporate ladder, which comparatively takes more time if you are a plain graduate.
In the earlier days, MBA was opted by people who were generally commerce graduates (or graduates from non-technical background). With time, people from core technical backgrounds started to opt for MBA degree, realizing that it offers specializations which are loosely related to their fields.
As the demand for pursuing MBA caught pace, Universities and campuses came up with ways to offer MBA degrees to those who did not have access to opt for post-graduation degree. The reasons could that the area where they live in does not have good MBA schools or financial constraints which makes campus learning a bit unaffordable.
That’s where the idea of online MBA came into existence. Online MBA offers the same courses, which you study and learn through online video streaming. The only difference is, online MBA lets you study the courses and subjects as per your convenience, without disrupting your daily work routine.
As the field of MBA grew with specializations getting added over the past years, the programs gained more credibility. This made online MBA a valuable asset in the corporate environment. Perhaps this is why more and more private universities are getting on board and are adapting their traditional on-campus MBA curriculum to an online format.
An online MBA is just as valuable as one earned through a traditional program, as students are required to master the same curriculum and meet the same expectations and rise to the same challenges. When it comes to receiving your diploma, there will likely be no differentiation between MBA graduates who completed their course work on campus and those who did it online. Campus learning involves more personal interaction and public dealing whereas online MBA focuses on the course content and curriculum. It depends upon the organization whether they choose a candidate with a campus degree or an online degree.
