Why You Should Not Go for a Cosmetic Surgery
A perfect face and body is a myth. Everyone has some or the other flaw, but aren’t they beautiful in their own way? The invention of cosmetic surgery has changed the notions of beauty and today, the whole of the world is running towards a set standard, which is achievable only by going under the knife.
Everyone now wants a sharp nose, perfect breasts, and a symmetric face so that they can pass the societal test of beauty. However, are the process and efforts worth it? Crash diets and crazy workout routines can any day win over what your body goes through when you decide to get some part of your body cut to fit in where you don’t belong.
Cosmetic procedures, surgical or non-surgical, are expensive and most people who cannot afford them end up in heavy debt. Add to the scenario a chance that the surgery doesn’t go well. In such a situation, you will end up paying heavily for looking horrible. Also, consider the points like you will need a break for this surgery and recovery. How much time will you lose in that? You might also need follow up and touch up surgeries, which will cost you extra both in terms of money and time.
You won’t believe this but cosmetic surgeries can become addictive. The wish to be perfect can make you go bonkers and can make you want to fix everything about yourself. There have been many cases where an individual has gone for an astounding number of procedures in order to look a particular way. These people have spent millions of dollars in achieving an artificial look and they have definitely damaged their bodies beyond repair.
There are many risks related to cosmetic procedures. If you have preexisting conditions like heart problems, obesity, or blood pressure, a simple cosmetic surgery can put you through the risk of life. There can also be other complications related to medicines used during the procedure.
There are other risks like scars, infections, blood clots, and nerve damage. Read the fine print when you sign the consent form and take a few minutes to understand if all this is worth it.
It is not necessary that you get the right looks in the very first attempt. Also, you can never be 100 percent sure how you will look after a particular procedure. What if you don’t like the results? You have to be prepared to take in the fact that you do not look the way you wanted and cannot go back to how you looked before the surgery. So, the risk is too much and probably not worth it.
